History
200 years of pioneership
The skilful smiths at Mattssons were known way back at the beginning of the 18th century. Over the centuries their handicraft has been supplemented by the development of machines and entrepreneurialism in keeping with the times. In 1905 the manufacture of promenade carriages started. In 1912 we started the production of our own patented drill chucks and in 1928 production was expanded to include tooling and machines. During the 50’s Mattssons was a pioneer in the manufacture of hydraulic cylinders and valves at the request of Swedish crane manufacturers – which explains the unique position we currently enjoy. The Engineering Company M. Mattssons Mekaniska AB started in its present form in 1972 and specialized in manufacturing timber grabs and racks. The present owner is Anderson although the company is still run in the same Mattsson’s spirit as earlier.
